The 7M retention would cost a 1st by itself.

Van should have traded Boeser last season and resigned Toffoli. But Van fans went crazy at the thought of trading Boeser, so the GM let Toffoli walk as a UFA.

Hey, the Rangers are not trading for Boeser when they just traded Buchnevich to avoid resigning him to 5.8. If Buchnevich is worth Blais and a 2nd, why would the Rangers trade more for Boeser? The league doesn’t exist to benefit the Rangers... Thank you Captain Obvious, but you’re comment doesn’t apply to this trade.

Not at all over my head, but rather your comment is completely devoid of logic. I consider Buchnevich and Boeser as just about equal in trade value. But the above trade proposal has the Rangers giving up much more in trade than they received for Buchnevich.

So, why would you make the comment “The league doesn’t exist to benefit the Rangers.”? Do you understand that your comment is not applicable and makes absolutely no sense or was this just right over your head?

Okay, so, this was over your head. I’ll explain why. Obviously…obviously this trade heavily favors the rangers. This particular poster went on a bit of a spree where he posted three of four threads with with the rangers getting phenomenal bounties for next to nothing. He had a thread just prior to this trading basically a first rounder for mcavoy.

Thank you for explaining. Regardless of his other trade proposals, this trade is very tilted towards VAN - not NYR. Boeser’s market value right now is a player similar to Blais and a 2nd round pick. Unless you’re insinuating that the Vancouver’s GM is so much better that the Rangers GM, that he would be able to finagle more in trade out of the market value than Drury.

Boeser is worth more than you think. Blais has never had more than 20 points, and has never had more than eight goals. Boeser has three 20+ goal seasons, and has averaged an 82 game pace of 31 goals and 68 points. Oh, and he’s younger than blais.

Looked up the McAvoy trade proposal... I hate trades that involve Strome... Strome has been just about a point per game player the last two seasons playing on a line with Panarin. The season prior to the last two, he was on pace (with NYR) for just about a 45 point season playing on the 3rd line - without Panarin.

But for some reason Strome is considered by most hockey fans, not rooting for the Rangers, to be over rated. Which leads to every trade proposal he’s listed in becoming a debate. Which is hysterical because obviously if he played for any Canadian team, the trade proposals being presented would be Strome for McAvoy straight up.

I believe the Rangers value Blais much more than his point totals. So Van would instead get a player who produced more points, but didn’t bring the physical type element Blais brings. Though Blais might have the talent to evolve into the point producer he once was before the NHL.

But Boeser’s market value is just about Buchnevich’s value.

Boeser has a pretty well rounded game. He’s worth more than Buchnevich, and a country mile more than blais. I can’t honestly believe anyone would value blais close to boeser.

Would you trade strome for fox straight up? That’s the equivalent. I now think you don’t know who boeser or mcavoy is.

We have a failure to communicate... Boeser’s trade value is equal to Buchnevich. Buchnevich is just as well rounded as Boeser if not better well rounded. Is Boeser on Vancouver’ number one penalty killing unit, like Buchnevich? Expect Boeser’s trade return to be on par with Buchnevich... Which was Blais and a 2nd round pick.

Buchnevich hasn’t provided the offense over the course of his career that Boeser has. Boeser is also two years younger. The rangers also made a really bad trade. That doesn’t impact Boeser’s value.

Hello! Hello! Hello! I’m not a fan of a Canadian team!

I now think you have a very low attention span and you’re just not capable of reading everything I’m writing. Just a sentence or two of it. Your comments have nothing to do with the conversation at hand. Please force yourself to reread what I wrote and see how your comments are completely devoid of logic.

Regardless of the past, Buchnevich is now a better point producer and a more well rounded player. Thus he’s a better player. The Rangers received market value for Buchnevich. If Van gets more for Boeser, it won’t be much more. If you believe differently, get ready for disappointment.

I’m not a Canucks fan. I don’t care. The Canucks have no reason to move him. I think you’re being a bit of a rangers fanboy here.

Just for the record, you’re the one being a contrarian here. I don’t think you’ll find anyone outside of New York that thinks Boeser is worth Blais and a 2nd.

I agree. Id give way more than Blais and a 2nd for Boeser and I think many many would agree. With that said, Buchnevich was also undersold solely due to cap considerations. If Covid never existed, Buch would have got more in trade too. IMO.
