Weird how when it’s not your rangers you actually give something up.

Still no though.

Competitive offer, but still a no from Van.
Bertuzzi's trade value is basically zero for a Canadian team haha.

Not a good trade for Detroit. Elias is a few years above Detroit's window. So by the time they get there, he'll be at the end of his prime. You're also guaranteeing you won't get a franchise center who does fit your window by giving up you future for one who doesn't.

Sure, but look at the roster they have now. Then add Moritz Seider and Cossa. Is that a roster that's gonna win a cup? I honestly don't think so. They need a couple really good draft picks to actually make that window legit and they aren't gonna get them with Pettersson.

I was looking at their roster a few days ago and noticed they have basically two windows with the guys they have in the system and I don't think either is necessarily good enough to win. Pius Suter, Larkin, Vrana are all 25 and by the time that Cossa, Seider, Edvinsson, and Raymond are ready, they will all be on the wrong side of thirty. Sure they can still play, but not as well as they could in the years prior. Especially for guys like Vrana or Suter. Not sure how they're gonna perform after 30. Pettersson may help combine this gap a bit, but I'm not sure it would be enough. I'd rather just get one of Wright, Lambert, or Savoie.

Pettersson is the 4th youngest person on this roster behind Zadina, Seider, and Raymond. He easily fits Detroit’s core age group

Yzerman is probably the best gm in the league but let’s be real Larkin is a 2c and while seider has potential to be a top 4 d man he also has no nhl experience and you have to give something up to get a top 10c in the league
