Random side note: Don Cherry spent a lot of time ripping on the leafs for taking Nylander over him. I remember one time after the world Juniors he was stating how we should have taken Ritchie as he won gold while Sweden either won bronze or didn't medal. Meanwhile I think Nylander led his team in scoring and Ritchie was a fourth liner with like 1 point.... Hahah

Nah. At the time Nylander was leading the AHL in scoring and Cherry just loves his big Canadian boys (another random fact Nylander was born in Calgary (I presume his dad was a flame at the time)), and consider Nylander a "soft euro"

I'm worried about the D depth.

Frankly it's as good as it's been in the last decade or so.

A top three of Muzzin/Brodie/Rielly is quite good. Sandin/Holl/Dermott is as good as most teams bottom 3 d.

And Lily, Mennel, Biega, Dahlstrom is solid enough for 7th and 8th dmen

I understand but the Leafs were quite good last season, and this season the only difference Bogosian is good. Certainly the Sandin and Dermot gotta step up, and Liljegren too.

I agree. And to add, Nylander spend almost of his youth hockey...I believe to age 14 in North America. Hardly a Swedish/Euro environment. Folks used to say the same thing about Winnipeg born Steen of Leafs/Blues fame.
