I dont think an elite player goes for a 1st SOLID liner (Kane) a current 2nd liner future 1st liner (Reinhart) a future STUD 2nd liner (Nylander) and two 1st round picks.

Do you think it would be more in this scenario? :O

Tim Murray would be fired for making this trade. Although a combination of Eichel and Kane would be awesome to watch, it depletes the brightest part about the future of this team. Nylander is going to be a deadly sniper, Kane already is a deadly sniper, and Sam Reinhart is developing like the Sabres had hoped. That and two first round picks for one elite player is ridiculous. Chicago would do this in a heartbeat, but there's no way that the Sabres would give up three of their high end forwards for one high end forward

I understand it's fun to think about, but the teams are in such different situations that we'd have to see the Hawks fully on the decline before they trade an elite player away. It'll be interesting in 5-7 years how they'll approach this issue. Even then I'm sure it'll be a deal with Many 1st rounders.

Hart winners take this to a whole new level of elite.

Yeah it would leave the Sabres way to depleted in the top end. It would be great to have him but they cant trade Reinhart and Nylander and then their next 2 firsts. Thats 4 top 6 players for one. The sabres would need to pray that Asplund and Pu develop into top 6 talent asap
