Yes in Detroit. Truthfully Pitt doesn’t have any assets that would be too enticing because they’d want a high end center coming back that fits our rebuild.

But even though Larkin is a big fish in a small pond, doesn't make him a #1 C. In 2 years does Larkin re-sign? How long is the DET rebuild?

Far more then what you'd be willing to pay that's for sure, And Pittsburgh doesn't have the assets Detroit would want for him anyways. We'd want back a far better Center back which you don't have.

Do you think DET is that one prospect away from relevant again? Larkin is a 2C on most playoff teams if not a 3C.

2 1st-round level assets and a 2nd-round level. Don't get it twisted, Larkin is a very underrated #1C. He's matched up against top lines since he was 19 years old. His point totals have never been very high but he's never another C to take the load off.

I would say he's not worth it for any team in the league because he is so important for the red wings. I think Pitt should see how salvageable of a season they have with crosby and malkin before trying to leverage more of their future.

In Detroit yes Larkins a 1C, Perhaps Pittsburgh he's a 2C or 3C Pittsburgh just doesn't have the assets for him. We'd want a high end C prospect coming back like 19 years of age and Pittsburgh doesn't have one.

Why any team with the righg mind would trade a high-end Center for 2 years of Larkin ? … no one

Detroit is a lot closer to relevance then people give them credit for. We've quite a bit of talent in our pipeline i think we're closer then what people give us credit for.

Then don't, but you asked and we answered. Detroit needs a high center prospect and if we moved Larkin id want one.

First off man Larkin isn't getting moved now, If Larkin winds up being like Seth Jones next summer and wont sign long term. We'd trade him to where he wants to go like Seth Jones by doing a sign and trade. Then yeah we'd expect a high end center back for sure.

It's irrelevant to be honest. Teams wouldn't be, and shouldn't be, willing to pay the INSANE overpayment it would require for Detroit to part with their hometown, 25 year old captain. The overpayment it would require would be so ridiculous that any opposing GM should be fired for even considering it.

The top prospects aren't great. Poulin or legare don't exactly get the hart racing. Maybe some combo of picks and a young guy. Idk nothing jumps out really.

Considering Detroit is his hometown and we’re projecting into an upward trajectory it’s good odds he signs an extension. Hard to answer your rebuild question without defining what you’re asking. Seider, Raymond, Berggren look to make an impact in the next year or so and then guys like Johansson/Edvinsson. Does Detroit win a lottery in the next two years? Detroit has lost more in the new lottery than every other team so they’re due.

Why would Detroit trade their only bonafide top 6 center? Teams can negotiate an extension in those 2 years.

You literally did this in your own ACGM. You just don’t like the answers you’re getting from Detroit fans because non of your prospects are an organizational need for Detroit and your picks aren’t lottery bound. You have to take the other teams needs into account.

This is a very hard one to match up since Pittsburgh doesn't have many young players/prospects that fit for Larkin. And the deal would have to include salary.

But here is my best shot....

    1. One of - Poulin, POJ
    2. One of - Broz, Hallander, Legare
    3. One of - Clang, Blomqvist
    4. One of - Marino, Pettersson or Matheson (cap reasons)
    5. One of - 2022 1st (protected), 2023 1st (unprotected)

A big part of this would be Detroit's view of Poulin (whether he can play center at next level or not)
