The Buffalo trade makes little sense

Malone, Miller(1.9mil retained), and a ‘23 6th for a retiree, a ‘23 3rd and ‘22 5th

We aren’t even getting anything from this trade.

Drop Buffalo's 6th and make VAN 3rd 2022.
If Harmonic retires, this trade will help Buffalo get a top 3 pick in the 2022 draft.
If he plays, he may be amenable to a trade at the TDL.
I think I would like to keep Malone as he was born in Buffalo, I do not think adding him makes or breaks the trade.
