Easy pass for Edmonton. I wouldn’t even consider it as a 1-1. Jp has built solid chemistry with mcdavid.

No thanks. Puljujarvi does really well with the oilers players, and is going to be great! Hertl is older, and only has one year on his contract. With Puljujarvi getting better and better, I don’t see the oilers ever doing that. We would need to trade for a severe upgrade to consider moving Puljujarvi.

Not even close. Hertl has less value than Puljujarvi does due to the fact that he's a pure rental - Edmonton won't be able to re-sign him. They aren't doing a 1-for-1 let alone adding a 1st and a 2nd.

Edmonton as an organization feels like they have a 10-year window to contend. Puljujarvi can help them for many years to come.

The Oilers have already made their bets on LW with Hyman and RNH and have added Foegele as well in the 3rd line. No way they can spend more cap space upgrading a position with that much committed. Adding Hertl means moving one of Hyman/RNH out which is extremely unlikely as they both just signed long term contracts with NMCs.

If the Oil trade out these kind of assets, it will be for a goalie, and maybe a good fit defensemen. Unlikely they look at adding any more forwards. The top 6 Fwd group in Edmonton is the best it has looked since the 80's.
