Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 1, 2021
Published: Oct. 1, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The only move I'd see would be to see if Anaheim would consider taking on two players to help offence at a reasonable cap hit, plus Poehling who'll be NHL ready in another year or two for Comtois; maybe add a pick to compensate, but I think offering them Lek and Armia plus Poehling should help them out vs Comtois.

Habs need to move out some salary; I would consider moving Gallagher to Vancouver, but they are already cash strapped for Petterson and Hugues and we don't have the space to offer a good deal to take on more cap space than they need.

While some may indicate I'm giving up lots of Comtois, remember that the move is primarily to get Cap Space; We have enough offensive depth on the team. When you consider that our 3 top lines can produce (that will need to be seen during the season) we still need a seasoned centerman and the only two player I can see moving out would be Lek and Armia. While both are good for us, they salary dollar doen't help the Habs; they are third liners and right now, when you have Anderson and Gallagher as potential 3rd liners.. I mean.. Something has to give. Comtois bring in a young guy, another year of contract at 2M$ and we have Paquette, Perreault and other players that can brought in for the fourth line plays. THis also gives Evans the possibility of reducing the pressure off of his shoulders and let him develop another year on the 4th line.

No, it's the other way round. This isn't even in the ballpark for Comtois. You're either overvaluing your players or undervaluing Comtois.

And Comtois hasn't played down the middle for years. He's a LW.

You could add your other 2022 first to that package and we'd still say No.

Comtios = Suzuki so would you give up Suzuki for that package? No of course you wouldn't, Comtois will take probably 2 1sts +

Let's see....Ducks give up a young player with upside, for an AHLer and overpaid 3rd/4th liner with term and 3rd/4th liner.
