Not gonna be 1st or 2nd if you don't have Benson as 4LW and Koekkoek with Bouchard (3rd pair) to start off the season and if he plays really good then he might get promoted to second or even first pairs

I agree that Koekkoek should slot in ahead of Russell, as long as he continues his strong play. At this point, the composition of the 4th line is still up in the air. Perlini, Benson, Shore, McLeod, and Turris are all under contract, and Sceviour has competed well with that group so far. Given the contract situation, and given how that group of players have performed, it might make sense to release Sceviour and reassign McLeod to Bakersfield, then run with Perlini, Shore, and Turris as the 4th line. If Archibald is done, and it certainly appears as though he is, then Benson and Lagesson will not have to go through waivers and they can join Russell as the extras.

We will see what the rest of the preseason brings.

McLeod has earned a spot on the team this season, great defensive awareness. Perlini takes Archibald's job and Benson can be our 4LW. Sometimes, Scratching Benson and bringing in Turris 4RW and Perlini 4LW might happen as well as the season goes on. In my eyes, I would love and a line that is realistic a bit is Benson-McLeod-Perlini, and scratching Turris and Sceviour or even Perlini-McLeod-Turris.

I’m very happy to see that the Oilers have a lot of depth finally.

With all the legit competition Mcloed gets sent down because he can be just to start the year run with shore perlini turris as fourth line while they all look sharp and ready. Benson can hang out in press box await his opportunity just like bouch did last year. I like the idea of him staying healthy getting a bunch of extra practice in more and more comfortable should hit the ground running when called upon.
