i'd say bratt is probably much better than you are giving him credit for, much better than a regular 3rd liner. though, depending on how much tkachuk is asking for i'd rather the devils just do an offersheet instead and keep mercer and bratt.

Still, pretty much no one has us contenders for a playoff spot.
So its nice.

(Mercer, BTW, is probably not a candidate to be dealt considering he looks like one of the Devils best players in pre-season)

Connor Brown who I put on the third line also lead our team in goals. I've just tried to balance the lines tbh. That is fair, but two 1sts, a 2nd, and a 3rd is super risky. I imagine Ottawa would just match then try and deal Tkachuk anyways.

You gotta give to get. Tkachuk was our leading point scorer and looks like he's going to be a 70 point power forward.

Bratt also looks to be 70-point forward.
Mercer looks to be a stud.

Mangiapane/Dube + Zary/Pelletier + 1st id assume . Lindholm would be nice but probably won’t fit our core age to compete

Devils are trying to get better and create their own culture. Certainly don't an overpaid Tkachuk for four years doesn't really advance their objectives. Bratt, Mercer, and the first rounder are much better value than Tkachuk.

Tkachuk would be nice but I'm way too high on Mercer to go through with that. Dude's looking like an absolute menace in camp.
