Without Hughes and an injured Eichel, Devils are a high lottery team. It's a big overpay by the Devils.
Devils keep Hughes and their picks and with extra cap next season...fill their roster, not just on one 10m player

The term is key here

JackE almost certainly hits UFA after 5 years as he has no roots in a team sense and would want to sign with a contender to compensate for the BUF years

JackH can be signed to a 3 year RFA ending bridge after this season or an 8 year deal and ultimately stays with whichever team for almost 2x the term

JackH > JackE

Sabres accept as they fix their forward core by adding Jack Hughes, Shane Wright and another top forward in this draft to have 8-9 prospects with top 6 potential.

Maybe try google on anatomy? ... neck Is part of the spine. It's not typical, but a herniated disc can cause numbness and pain from the shoulders/arms, down the back and even as far as the legs.

Not sure what's up with Eichel, but a herniated disc in the neck can be very serious, particularly for a person who plays a contact sport.
