so you trade the leafs two best playoff forwards for worse players and sign a guy who is too injured and may not play again to be the leafs 3C? that doesnt sound like a good way to make a playoff team

Minnesota can't afford another expensive winger no Matt how good they are without moving Kevin fiala. And even then, a c like Tomas H will be targeted in free agency. Moving greenway will be for 1st round pick and prospect

So Kerfoot who has under performed since becoming a leaf has a few good playoff games and now he's valuable. Nylander was the best leaf this playoffs but before that he was a ghost come playoff time.

no, Kerfoot has not underperformed, he's performed as well as a good 3C/2LW who makes under 4 mill is supposed to be, and people are still mad because he's not kadri.
And nylander has not been a ghost before that, he's had like one bad play in round and been very good in the regular season on top of being good in the playoffs before that.

You won't get a 1st and a prospect for Greenway. You can for Nylander, though. I'd take that and run, figure out what to do with Nylander later, trade him or keep him. The value's just too good here IMO.

he's played 26 and 14 games the past 2 seasons and 63 and 51 the two years before that. He's been injured off and on forever. How could you not know that?

Totally shocked the poster that trades Nylander at a huge loss so the Leafs "get better" didn't know Andrew Shaw had retired.

Sorry JOL didn't go that deep into shaw's past. Just took him from the ufa pool as a 3rd line center. Not everyone knows as much as you do about every player. I do this for entertainment and try to make a team l like for the playoffs.

It's about making the team as a hole better. Imo this is a much deeper looking playoff team. No doubt Nylander is a way better player but Greenway fits the needs the leafs have and the top 3 lines have more scoring depth then this year.

Nick foligno got a 1st. Teams always pay for what could be with young talents like greenway. But whetr are Minnesota finding cap for Nylander?

LOL. You could have just said Hitting = winning, that's obviously all that you are after here.

The grass is always greener!!!

How did big tough Copp look in the playoffs last year?

Greenway has really looked like a playoff beast over the years. Oh wait.

The guy that actually has had some playoff success, you've way underpaid (along with Kuemper - $2.5M really???).

You don't make the team better by trading great players for players not as good as them. It's fairly simple.

Pretty well nothing here is realistic.

Both fast, tenacious players, that helped form a solid checking line.

Neither had anywhere near the impact that the stars like Point, Kucherov, Hedman had.

That's why you build around star players, not trade them for guys that have 20ish goals in 200+ games.
