Going from playing with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner to be playing with Loui Eriksson and Andrew Ladd

Pretty significant upgrade

I think you meant Tavares and Nylander as thats who he mostly played with. I think he only played one game with the Dynamic duo in which he helped Matthews get a hattrick lul.

That said going from that to Arizona's Frankenstein lines, yeah thats pretty bad for his production totals.

Like honestly if he was willing to sign that cheap why not stay in Toronto lul. He and Nylander had good chemistry. Then again Bunting be looking good so...

The best part is that even if he has crappy year, another team will probably take that chance on him again and trade for him at the deadline.

Now Yotes need to sign Fail for Nail. Maybe playing together help them find their game.

Good deal, Galchenyuk is still a good player offensively and could chip in to be flipped at the deadline for pieces

There's zero risk in this deal; Galchenyuk still has something left in the tank. The only thing to dislike is that it's a one-way, but that's a very small complaint.

Great deal for the Yotes, horrible deal for Galch.

He took a $300,000 pay CUT to play on a WORSE team.

Remember when he played exactly 2 NHL games in Toronto when Leafs fans started jerking themselves off about how Toronto had "rebuilt" him?

The same overhype as Thornton, Ho-Sang, Ritchie, Kase, Bunting...

Players dont get let go by their previous team without valid reasons.

I think this top 9 is going to surprise a lot of people ...

Eriksson - Beagle - Roussel

Boyde - Galchenyuk - Ladd

Larsson - Carcone - Fasching

I just bet half my life savings on Zona making the SC finals.

I would suggest something similar for the rest of you.

He was ok with Tavares and Nylander, and even in the playoffs without Tavares, so the Leafs could have brought him back but I think they wanted somebody with more grit in that spot. They seem pretty high on Bunting. I think the problem with Galchenyuk is that he's no longer good enough to play in the top 6 but he's not the kind of player who can be effective in the bottom 6. In Arizona he should get a chance to play in the top 6, and that was the last place he put up decent numbers so it could be a good fit.

The best signing of the summer.

Leafs "trade" him for Bunting...now wouldn't it be funny if Galch out preforms Bunting.

I don't care what anyone says. This is a value contract. It truly is a win win one. If he does half decent with them great. If not down to the minors he goes smile

damn there's something about galchenyuk that brings out the most insufferable comments.

His biggest issue was his skating and Toronto had the resources for him to work on that. If he didn't have his 12 pts in 26 games on the Leafs I doubt he would've gotten a PTO and probably would've been in the KHL by now.
