DeAngelo on the top defensive pairing for the Canes is a disaster waiting to happen

How so? Hes the best offensive defenseman on the team. This is the same situation that we had with Dougie on the top line haha

Two reasons



1. Character


Hockey teams lose hockey games all the time.

It doesn't matter how good they are.

Putting TDA on the top pairing would give him an enormous amount of power and entitlement and the season hasn't even started yet.

If the Canes lose a big game and TDA is on the ice, he might use that power to feel entitled and lash out at someone.

2. Brett Pesce

I pretty much disagree with everything you said.

All the reasons you listed, are reasons why we have a coach. Someone goes on a power trip? your probably getting benched.

Pesce? Why play our 2 most solid Defensive defenseman on the top pairing together?

Why keep our best offensive weapon on defense, buried? Because he might lash out? Lmao have you been in a locker room before?

When TDA attacks one of his teammates after a big loss and the Canes need to bench him indefinitely, you'll be left wondering, "why is this happening?"



2. The Lightning, Coyotes and Rangers have world-class coaches too.

A leopard never changes its spots.



3. To play defence?

Isn't that what a defenseman is supposed to do?

Pesce is paid about 4 million, Bear about 2 million and TDA only 1 million.

There's a reason for that.



4. Placing someone on the 3rd pairing isn't burying someone.

Erik Gustafsson was Montreal's best defenceman on the powerplay during their cup run and he was on the third pairing or made a healthy scratch.

Burying TDA would be something like what the Rangers did last season.

Im actually currently giving the Canes the benefit of the doubt seeing as they are the ones who signed him. I trust in my org.

TDA is a terrible person but he’s got all of the skills you need in a top pair defenseman that will drive offense. Maybe he cracks, and if he does he’ll be sent down, kicked out, whatever. But the kids has skills and Aho can’t walk him anymore.
