I didn't see anything realistic there. Let's start at the top. Too much for Engvall. Campbell would ask for more if he's gonna be treated like a starter this year, or even a really good tandem goalie w/ Mrazek. There is literally no logic in that Helley trade. Why would they even bother trying to improve if they're not only gonna trade away a top 2 goalie in the league, debatably the best, but also their ONLY good goalie. Nylander is good, but that ain't worth it for them. Why would you trade Matthews? For anything? Doesn't matter the return, there isn't a trade in which I'd consider trading away Matthews unless McDavid is coming back the other way. Franchise goal-scorers capable of putting up consistent 50 goal seasons are extremely rare, even more so when they can do more than just score goals. So that trade isn't close to value, especially when the replacement first-line center is Tavares, who is getting past his prime. And his planned replacement is Henrique, who isn't very good anyway. This acgm made the Leafs significantly worse without considering other teams needs as well.
