I try not too even click on these when I see Buffalo... He WILL fetch at least 3 GOOD first round equivalents.
He does not have a broken neck.
This is not a career ending injury.
Let's remember, he skated off of the ice with out assistance.
Rest, rehabilitation and medication is the recommended first treatment.
I have seen other sites that essentially report the same information, one major difference, the sites I found indicated that 95% of the people with herniated neck disks need ONLY rest, rehabilitation and medication. The site you posted believes that is closer to 99%.
I do not think any team will give up a prospect who has a ceiling similar to Jack, but the Sabres WILL get two good prospects, two good picks and a player to balance the cap.
Or some combination maybe a young roster player, good prospect, good pick and a player to balance the cap.
EDIT:
The article states he was injured on March 7th, his last game.
I noticed from the first game of the season he was not skating as he did last year.
I did not want to speculate why, but he may have injured his neck long before the Islander game.
