Sounds about right: an A prospect, a B prospect who needs a chance elsewhere, a 1st and a bit more (4th). Only problem is Leafs cant afford that cap hit.

Leafs might get another team to eat half his salary, but that'll cost an additional 2nd or more, (and they still cant afford).

I personally don't see Miller netting this much value considering when they traded for him it was for a mid first (20th OA) and a 3rd. I don't see how his value skyrocketed to include 2 solid prospects

He went from 40 pts, 55 pts, 47 pts with TB/NYR, to 72 pts and then 46 pts in 53 games, his value (at age 28) has increased and at 5.25 for 2 more years probably worth that package.

For example Drouin of TB has a differwent value than Drouin of MTL.

While I think Amirov COULD BE a top 20-30 forward prospect, Liljegren is finishing his ELC without much more than a cup of coffee in the NHL, the TOR 1st and 4th should be late round (and are not in 2022).

Why would the Leafs want JT Miller or fit his cap hit in their system?

Doesn't fit in the Leafs cap at all. Like Miller, but Leafs shouldn't be traded for their best or second best prospect Amirov, Liljegren looks NHL ready, and first for two years of Miller.

I'm not discounting the success of Miller. It's just hard for Toronto since they're paying their Top 3-4 Forwards more money than they'll know what to do with (I've accepted that Willy is probably worth it).
They will need the cheap cost of Lilly/Amirov/Robertson to remain competitive considering the flat cap.
If we were to get another forward, they would need to be cheap, likely retained, and we would need to move 1-2 players back to make the cap worth.

The Millet contract is nice since it roughly brings him to the end of his prime (30-33 for forwards)
