Description

Too much? Not enough? I know White is pretty good but he is also out for 4-6 months. This helps the senators hit the Cap floor and gives them a couple NHLers. I know everyone likes connolly. But after watching the Hawks preseason and going to a few days of camp, I think the only reason Connolly isn't on the roster is because of all the competition. He looked like an NHLer otherwise and could help the bottom six of a team like Ottawa.

Sure. Not a GREAT move and doesn't really help them this season. But incentive is there for both sides. And if White comes back from this injury strong it would be a nice addition for them.

Yeah seems like a net loss for the hawks losing a pick and an effective player in Strome for somebody that will be out for half a year. I'd say take out the pick and its more even.

I'm sure the Hawks. won't mind a White for Connelly trade. But Strome can be a handy guy. Even those two players traded doesn't seem great for the Hawks, never mind adding a second.

With White needing surgery on his shoulder and likely out 4-6 months I don't see how this is possible, but I like the idea. White would do well with a change of scenery.

As I am saying below, the 2nd is overpayment so if the pick is out of the deal, Ottawa shouldn't do this

Connolly is not a contract the Sens will want

As for Strome, not sure he would be a Sens type player but I could be wrong. I think they'd prefer to have White who is a much better skater and much better defensively, while having a better physical game. He is also more consistent offensively even though Strome has more upside. If Dylan was strong on face-offs, maybe that'd change things but I can't see them being interested in Strome.

Colin White is also part of the leadership group, Chabot's best friend and very well-liked by everybody. As of now, his contract helps reachign the cap floor so no reason/rush to move him.

Yeah no reason to give up that 2nd round pick.

Anyway, I don't think anyone would trade for White this year with him being out long-term and having term left.
