Of course, but thats not realistic. It's like saying we'll give you the German for Eichel.

I wouldnt touch that trade. I like olofsson. Not at all a fan of strome. We have no use/want/need for a left d, and the picks dont make up the difference.

And just wanted to point out again how everybody seems to have 2 or 3 left d that they can free up for something they want, its gotta be the position worth the absolute least in the league, especially if its just a depth guy making a smidge too much.

If olofsson produces on this roster he will either be extended or command a 1st at the deadline.

If he doesn't then I don't know what happens but they'd be selling low on a guy who has 2 rfa years left

Would have to be an overpay to move him. A 1st and prospect I’d think. He will show better at 5v5 this year

      Olofsson for:
      Strome
      Beaudin
      2022 2nd
and Nylander, Alexander of of Waivers (Buffalo would have the first crack at him)
      That would be absolutely fantastic.
Strome challenges Cozens and Mittelstadt for ice time while Nylander jockey's Thompson and Hinostroza for the top 3 RW.
Buffalo gives up a LW who could be replaced by Girgensons or Bjork and fills to other roster spots, gets a pick and a prospect.
Yet some Buffalo fans say no?

The problem is we do not need LHD nor do we have room. Sure Beaudin is a great prospect but with Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson, Johnson in the pipeline there he has no place. Unless Beaudin can play right there is no reason to acquire him

You are correct Buffalo has several apparent NHL ready prospects.
The key word is prospects, Beaudin would be nice to add to the mix.
Strome and Nylander would fit very nicely into the line up and then there is that second round pick.
There is no doubt that this would be a HUGE return for Olofsson.
Especially since Buffalo has Girgensons, Bjork and Ruotsalainen who could all play LW (not to mention Asplund and Caggiula).
Nylander would almost definitely slide into the RW line up behind Thompson and Hinostroza.

Sure but what's the point in acquiring a promising young player if there is no place for him to play in the lineup? Sure he could play 3rd pair LHD this year but for next year I envision Dahlin, Power, and Samuelsson down the left which will be the best left side in the NHL by a mile in a couple years. Heck Johnson who is a high B prospect has no place on the team in the future unless someone switches sides. Sabres could desperately use another RHD prospect though because asides Joki (who is a 2nd pair guy at best) and Laaksonen (who again is a 2nd pair guy at best) we lack any organization depth there. Would love to see us acquire or draft a extremely solid stay at home D-man for Dahlin

I said you are 100% correct, Buffalo needs RHD.
Your assessment of Jokiharju and Laaksonen is perfect.
I noticed today a LHD prospect (Juolevi) was traded for a RHD (Juulsen) prospect, any one of Bryson, Samuelsson, Butcher, Hagg, or Beaudin could be traded for a RHD IMO.
Obviously not a top pairing RHD, but if the Sabres had 3 RHD as good as Jokiharju, I would be satisfied with any two of them paired with Dahlin or Power.
Beaudin is only one of the pieces, Strome, Nylander and a second.
Those last three pieces are nearly enough for Olofsson.
When I see the Sabres are going to have Thompson at Center, it is obvious we need both a center and RW.
Let me add, Olofsson did not have a great preseason, if we could get that many pieces for him, it would be a killing.
On a side note, it would be great if the Krakens put Borgen and the Hawks put Nylander on waivers. With the worse record, Buffalo could get them both back for nothing.

      OK, no problem.
I just do not understand some Sabre fans.
Strome, Nylander, Beaudin and a second for Olofsson.
My goodness gracious, as I said above, that fills 3 of the holes for Buffalo.
Olofsson is the only months younger than Ristolainen, if these four pieces were offered to me, he would be gone.
Lastly, I presumed he was claimable as you had Arizona plucking off of waivers.

Yeah, his waivers status was recently updated, (after this post), to reflect that he isn't eligible. Also, I don't think you would get all of those assets, I suggest re-reading the description.

I was thinking something along the lines of Strome + a decent pick/ prospect.

Let’s say Strome, 2nd, and a guy like Stillman or Regula (RHD)

and Nylander, Alexander of of Waivers (Buffalo would have the first crack at him)
      That would be absolutely fantastic.

He is the same age as Ristolainen and last year he demonstrated his capability to score 5 on 5 with out Jack at center.
While Bjork, Girgensons, Ruotsalainen are not known for scoring goals they all could move up to the second line.
