Kaliyev isn’t going anywhere. Kid can flat out score and the kings need that

No to the chicago trade. Swap turcotte for vilardi and sure. I think the sabres really like bryson, since he can skate im guessing he gets a look on the right side as well, but if the sabres really like brook, i can see it. The other ones are probably pretty good, compher for hagg and a 2nd for quick retained sounds great.

LA isn't going to trade Kaliyev. It looks like he's going to make the team this year. They might include someone like Sam ****emo or Akil Thomas instead. Alternatively, they could have someone like Kempe off the active roster.

This trade would also put LA significantly over the salary cap. They have less than $2M in cap space, so they'd need to dump $8M in cap space to make Eichel fit. In this trade they're clearing less than $6M.

Quick ($5.8M) - Replacement Goalie ($750k) = $5.05M cap cleared
Vilardi ($925k) = $925k cap cleared
****emo/Thomas ($0 - AHL) = $0 cap cleared

Throw in Maatta as well and the cap works.

Vilardi
Thomas/****emo
Quick
Maatta
2022 2nd round pick (only transfers if Eichel plays in 20+ games in 2021-22)
2023 1st round pick (only transfers if Eichel plays in 41+ games in 2022-23, or if LA makes the conference finals and Eichel plays in more than 50% of the games)

Any more than this and LA sticks with what they have.

The Chicago trade is a bit rich. Most Buffalo fans say that Strome doesn’t move the needle, and for that reason I think looking for another Avenue is the best option.

No one would ever use their clause faster than Jonathan Quick trying to stay the **** outta Buffalo...

EDIT: Holy ****, he doesn't have a clause... Floored.

Hagg sucks worse than Jack Johnson. Avs aren’t throwing away a functional 30pt forward for a dude that doesn’t even dress. Compher gets more irrational hate on this site than anybody.

I realized this but they could easily flip kempe, matta or others for cap relief and get picks back. And they have to give up a good prospect to make trade work. Would rather have turroctte and think he makes the most since for both sides to be honest. With Jack, kopitar, and danault signed long term doesn’t leave much room at center. And with byfield top center turroctte will have to play wing. Better off keeping virlardi and kaliyev who already have experience at wing and trade turroctte and another lower ends prospect.

Strome value is negligible at best atm. Ian Mitchell is the better asset rn. Strome just isnt an easy trade because he's a complementary player and contenders simply dont have the room on the roster for him at that salary and position. Rebuilding teams would just use him as a placeholder.

Sure, then swap Turcotte for Vilardi in the trade return.
