The ask at the TDL last year was a 1st and 2 prospects and that's exactly what this trade is offering.

I think the trade would include Denisenko and a 1st if he came with an extension. But I see the ask being Serron Noel and a 1st

Florida doesn't have the cap space to give an extension to Ekholm. I wouldn't move Denisenko alone for Ekholm; Ekholm is gonna be 32 soon and Denisenko will be a top 6F.

I see the Muzzin trade as being a pretty fair comparable except Muzzin had 2 years and Ekholm only has 1 year left on his contract. Muzzin was also 2 years younger.

I'd rather have a 1st than Samoskevich. I don't have much faith in Heponiemi or Gildon ever amounting to much. You haven't accounted for NSH needing to retain salary here. Preds decline. They'll get better offers than this, if they move Ekholm.

?

It's a 1st a 2nd + gildon

Pretty comparable to the return for RFA dougie Hamilton after finishing top 25 in D scoring lol like jeeze louise Ekholm is a 30ish non elite rental

Edit:

Typo.

Exactly . Just because a guy was picked in the 1st doesn’t necessarily mean he’s worth a 1st or even that the other team would prefer that guy over a 1st round pick in the return

Gildon put up nice scoring totals in college and was just the highest scoring defender on an AHL team at 22 and he's by far the worst asset of the 3

😐

Very generous return

The prospects could be nice but pretty sure Nashville would prefer the traditional return of a 1st round pick + someone like Serron or Denisenko

Yeah I'm not sure that people here are in the know about Panthers prospects enough to make a judgment here lol.
This is too much for Ekholm

Ekholm is a good dman but he'll be 32 by the TDL. His next contract is going to be overpriced for the good part of it so an extension is not that enticing. He's a pure rental IMO.

Sure Nashville would prefer a 1st and an A tier prospect but Ekholm doesn't get that. He's a one year rental, Denisenko alone is worth more than Ekholm.

I feel like both teams win the trade as proposed. Any more and it becomes one sided.
