Call me crazy, but I don't think the Mika deal means that the Eichel dream is dead. It just means that Drury is gonna have to increase his offer to get Buffalo to retain like $3m.

Not saying I think they SHOULD do something like this or even that it'd be a good idea, but it's definitely do-able!

I think you’ve laid out three very good examples of why it’s dead.
1. Teams don’t run with a 20 man roster.
2. Of course buffalo isn’t taking that.
3. Why does Fox sign that deal? (And no, it’s not similar at all to Makar’s deal)

as much as I want Eichel to go to NY, next year after this you have 600k to resign Laf, Miller, and Jones. Good luck

Just for the fox part they can probably get that AAV if he signs for 5-6 years. Not for 8

Or I suppose if he follows his Norris win with a bad season but that's it's own issue.

Try more like 8 x $11,000,000 for Adam Fox, And noway in hell are you getting Jack Eichel @ $3,000,000 retained for that package. Add K Andre Miller and Adams seriously thinks about it.
