wasnt like it was going to be a one for one trade. If the price for Eichel is still crazy high this is probably a much smarter move for the rangers long term then putting all their hopes into Eichel with some much uncertainty around him.

I mean, i think it’s a bit much to be giving people crap for being 500K off on an 8.5M deal. I definitely thought he would cost $9M+, but I also didn’t think that the Rangers would give him more than six years. The term at $8.5 is a fair compromise for probably leaving some AAV on the table. I think this is a really good deal for both sides.

Eichel return is going to be epic! So many conditional picks. It will be a lot like the EK65 trade, I think

I personally really like Asplund, I don't see the point in trading him for a goalie. I think he has good decent offensive ability but he's really good defensively and plays on the PK. He'll be on the 2nd/3rd line this season. Maybe Anders Bjork would be a better replacement

Yeah my apology, I wasn’t looking to say $9M alone was a bad estimate. It’s more the “at least $9M people who really expected around $9.5M after hearing about that negotiation with Zibby’s agent

The opinion of these homers is meaningless! Thinking Bjork is untouchable. Its crazy. Detroit and Buffalo fans have no idea what value a player holds when they are used to fringe players starring for their respective teams.
