Description
Don't beat me up to bad. Just showing that it can be done after Zibs deal. Make Zib the C with this deal.
Buffalo gets a player to lead forwards. A player to lead the defense. A good prospect and a first. Everyone will say bad contracts but after this year Kreider is 5years at $5.2 , Trouba 4years at $6 pay. It's the cap hit that's high. Buffalo has a hard time hitting the cap floor so this fits. They also have a hard time getting free agents. For Kreider/Trouba the writing is on the wall. Rangers are deep at their respective positions. 1 or both will get moved once their clause kicks in. Seems like a cap era hockey trade for both sides.

Why would BUF want Kreider and Trouba? There years away from competing again so Kreider and Trouba don't really do anything for them

IF BUF doesn't take cap back in a Jack trade, their trading options are very limited.
That is a fact and BUF people are going to have to deal with that.
Either either Retain for 5 years, or take cap back. They don't have other choices if they want any kind of decent return.

If Heiskanen got 8.4 and Nurse got 9.25, you can bet that Fox will want at least 9 mil since he's miles better than Nurse and I think he's significantly better than Heiskanen too. Wouldn't be surprised to see an 8x9.5 tbh or a 3-4 year deal at 8 mil

Im still surprised by how many people think that we wont be able to find cap anywhere if we dont take their god awful cap dumps. Theres 31 other teams in the league, probably 25 would be absolutely thrilled to send us short term cap dumps if the price is right. Getting to the floor is a phone call and a futures trade away. Plus, i believe that we will take cap back, as long as its short term, i think retaining is a coin flip, but retention will absolutely cost more, and cap dumps most likely dont add value to the package.

Extending Zibanejad through 2029-2030 takes the Rangers out of the Eichel trade rumor mill, and should end many garbage trade ideas that did not benefit the Rangers and Sabres.
