Really aggressive offseason and OS

Created by: CEO
Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 10, 2021
Published: Oct. 10, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Exploit vulnerability. Minnesota will have their buyouts really kick in next year, and Fiala and Kahkonen need to be resigned. Signing Greenway to a 6 year deal with a 4.25M cap hit and 5.1M AAV will be really tough for Minnesota to match. They likely just take the picks, and we replace Miller

I think your underselling Miller and Greenway wouldn't be worth that.

But am I? I really like Miller but he has been playing with Boeser and Pettersson. Last year he struggled. Depends a lot on how this year goes. And Greenway had 32 points in 56 games. He is good defensively. Only 24. Probably could be a 50 point player. Alternatively we could OS Fiala...

Really bad offseason…

The forward group is really great. Maybe move Pearson out if you can. Fix that dog**** defence if it’s possible and you have a real contender.

Greenway just outscored

He's just moving into his prime now

4.25M cap hit is fine

If he does it again this year then I'll be more interested. For now it might just be an outlier year given the extraordinary circumstances of last season.

I really like this AGM in many ways ultimately

- Tactful and sensible offer sheet

- Rathbone is gonna be fantastic

- Garland on the 1st line where he belongs 😎

Concerns are that their 2022 first could be quite something with how good the draft will be and maybe they should OS Addison given the huge RD need

Maybe but the Van 2022 1st is really exciting

No protections on OS picks either 😎

With the aging core and Samsonov not coming on too strong wouldn't the 2022 pick be ideal for Washington, especially in such a tough division 😕

Isn’t such a stacked draft though

Miller was on pace for 71 points over 82 games, that is 1st line offensive production. Where he struggled was defensively, an area of his game that has been consistently strong over previous seasons. Playing on a terrible defensive team last season and having contracted Covid, I would expect that part of his game to rebound.
