Description

With the start of the season approaching, this is my prediction on how the 2021-22 NHL season will go. Obviously this will not be exactly how everything goes, but I thought I’d do this just for fun and share my opinion. I put a ton of work into this, and I’m looking forward to the season starting!

I have a few questions. You have the jest beating the avs, could you elaborate on why you think they would win. And then them subsequently beating the knights in a short series. Similarly, you have the oilers losing to the blues. Some more justification pls. And then you have the Vegas-Vancouver series going quite long before the knights win.

Just curious as to why you made those choices

I think this may be the year that Connor Hellebuyck will finally make a run and take the team to the stanley cup final. The team also improved their defense while it was their biggest question mark, and have an excellent forward group. Not to mention the Avs/Knights keep losing in the second round/conference final. The Oilers have been awful in the playoffs in recent years and didn’t improve enough to make me think that will change. I can see the Knights and Canucks having a long battle as both teams are very good in the playoffs and have decent goaltending, but I gave the knights the edge since they have a better defense. This should be the case if Thatcher Demko can take the next step.

Im fine with their goaltending tbh, Andy is streaky but you'll love Raanta, im more concerned with their F and D depth

I wouldn’t be so sure. The Islanders put up a fight with TB the past couple years, and Tampa lost too much depth due to their cap issues while NYI is still pretty much the same team. I see the Islanders finally having the edge on the bolts this year.
