Initial Creation Date: Oct. 11, 2021

Description
Just trying this out. Not sure on Tkachuck's value so at least I'll have a idea after this.

Trades
MIN
  1. Tkachuk, Brady [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Not sure this makes sense for either team and I'm not sure the Sens would see this as a fair trade, just spit balling I guess. I think Tkachuck is probably looking for a big bridge deal so he can leave if Sens don't turn it around. I think if Send were willing to give Fiala a long term deal he would sign. I think Greenway would sign any fair offer.
OTT
  1. Fiala, Kevin
  2. Greenway, Jordan
Additional Details:
No doubt in my mind that Billy G would love a player who plays the game like Tkachuck. Hoping he would sign a 4 year deal in MN so the Wild could afford him when his contract is up.

of course he’d take a 4 year deal, that walks him straight to UFA. Not that ottawa would trade him for that but still

Brady said 8 by 8 offer was disrespectful, and his dad along with NHL brother have been advising him to point they don't see the potential damage they are doing to his career holding out

Fair enough. Now if Ottawa signs him to a bridge deal and decides to trade him before his contract expires, you could probably circle back on this

At best fiala and t are equal, or fiala a little better. Analytics would look at points, and not once has Brady reached 50 points his career. Fiala has, and has 2 along with having 40 points last year and brady T had 36 points but was not great if a person were to care about +- in comparison of both players

Yes kinda. I think he is looking for a long term payday so retention is probably not difficult.

You can go that route with the argument, but you need to consider age and quality of team around, but then again Fiala did spend most of last season with Rask so the team quality argument might be null.

Did you seriously just say analytics and +/- in the same post lmao, here’s some analytics:

Brady Tkachuk 5v5 stats:
SOG - 2nd
HITS - 1st
iXG - 3rd
Rush Attempts - 1st
Rebounds Created - T-13th
iCF - 10th
iFF - 2nd
iSCF - 3rd
iHDCF - 2nd
Future captain? - Yes
Lazy? - Never
Penalties drawn - 1st

and this is in the entire league, not just on the Sens lol

Crossed my mind, but if he was any good at it wouldn't the Sens already be playing him there?

Other than Josh Norris, what impresses you? To be honest I prefer Ek over Norris, maybe Norris becomes the better player but not yet.

Thought that was a unique trade you made. Gee, I'm not sure Minni does the deal. Two years of Failas for four years of Tkachuk, and Sens get Greenway...seems like a fair value trade. Only thing is paying Brady so much....IMO he's, not 7m player and then the reduced cap for the Wild next year due to the two buyouts.
I still say Minni declines.....keeping two good NHLers instead of one.

I would easily do that if I am Ottawa. Fiala (25 y/o) is all kind of good and Greenway (24 y/o) is a pretty good piece too, plays a heavy game.

But yeah, no team should sign Tkachuk for 4 years, it should be 1-2 years or 6-8 years.

No, your offer is pretty good IMO

Shane Pinto will be better than Josh Norris in the near future, even though Norris will be excellent

There's also a guy named Ridly Greig that you could start keeping track of. After that there's a young Ostapchuk who has a nice skllset but a darkhorse prospect named Philippe Daoust who I have been calling as a major riser for a over a year now. And there's always Stutzle who could end up as a Center. Not sure about that, for now I think Stu wants to be a winger, but that might change as he matures

Why?

Every indication from Fiala during the negotiation process this off-season was that he wanted a long-term contract and payday.

He has arbitration rights already, and chose not to use them. It was Guerin who took Fiala to arbitration. And even though a 1 year contract was worked out before the arbitration hearing, it's known that Fiala had elected on a 1 year arbitration contract anyway instead of a 2 year arbitration contract that would of walked him straight to UFA.

He isn't going to just force arbitration and run if he was on the Sens. All the guy wants is a long-term contract and to get paid. That's it. If he was offered a 8x$7M or something within that range of term and contract length, he'd take it in a heartbeat.

The notion that he wouldn't want to stick around just because it's Ottawa is idiotic. You're not Buffalo for crying out loud. You're a young up and coming team where the sky's the limit. Same as Minnesota, we're just further along the rebuild path then you are. I don't see any reason why Fiala wouldn't be willing to stick around, especially someplace where he could be 'the guy' for awhile.

Just saying...

Likely unrealistic. Norris is probably under the untouchable category by now and now that their rebuild is done, at least they say it is, gotta think Pinto is too. Ottawa doesn't have the center depth to be moving out centers, especially quality ones at that.
