For the purposes of this post, a draft bust is "a highly touted or highly selected draftee that does not meet expectations".


Rankings are based on how high the draft bust was selected.


If there is still hope for a draft pick from 2016 to turn things around, they are not included.

Johansen has been due to health...there is still hope

Also, over the long-term, Sean Day turned out to be a bust considering all the hype when he entered junior.

1. Gauthier was left exposed to Seattle for the expansion draft.

2. After coming off his ELC, he signed for close to league minimum.

3. For a 1st round pick from 2016, his stats are nothing to write home about.

4. He was traded by Carolina for an AHL level player.
