Description

Give Brady a bridge deal and maybe we don't need him with Formenton, but.

I am sure Brady would not be on top-line right away because he has to get in "Game Shape", but assuming he does quickly, I would think that DJ goes back to putting with the line from last year, unless they really want to get creative.
With Pinto's play so far I think that he and Stuzle should be played together from now on. I actually am coming around on C Brown more and I like him with the other two until another option is available.

Early in camp they had Formenton and Sokolov playing on the same line and I really liked the combo, while Tierney is the best option there, I think this could be the start of another really good line, especially with the camp formenton hard and showed some grid, and scoring which would help create a great third line in the future with some secondary scoring to balance top 6.

I have Sabourin in there, only because DJ seems like he will have him around with Watson gone just for fighting, but really he should not be on the team and can stay in the AHL all season hopefully. J Brown can handle the tough guy role and punch Simmions in the face when sens play the leafs.

Branstrom is looking like he is here to stay, Zaitev is a safe pairing to let him try to be offensive and cover his mistakes. I see him and JDB becoming a solid second pairing next season.

Del Zotto is a tire fire and lets get him out.

I get that this is hopeful but Brady declined an 8x8 and wants at least 7.5 for a shorter term bridge deal, so even tho I’d love for this to happen being that I’m a sens fan, it won’t.

The Bridge deal is what it is, I more or less just picked a number, The Hopeful part is that we can get a Formenton Sokolov combo on a line together for a large number of games this year. I see some real potential there with a better C than Tierney.

This is not a bridge though because 4 years walks him straight to UFA

A bridge implies that the player will still be RFA at the end of his contract

Maybe BT would be interested if becoming UFA as fast as possible is what he wants. IMO that would be a mistake by the Sens, another Mark Stone type situation in the last year, which would force them to sell low on him. Might as well trade him to a place he really wants to be and that will give him his pay mostly in signing bonuses, like Brakov's deal. IMO, that is the reason why he still isn't signed today

I do hope trade options are being explored. As a manager, you have to know what your options are

And if a trade happens, it has to be for a blue chipper or a young established player like him, not a "quantity deal"
