I get that, to me he more of an Evans type guy but my feeling is the Habs feel like Suzuki is #1 Dvorak #2 then Evans and Brook can interchange for 3 and 4. I actually like Brook more than Poehling or Pacqette and Perrault at center.

I don't think this hurts the Leafs but it at least gives the Habs a better 3/4 option to run with Evans

Brooks if he becomes a full timer will be a 30 point scorer.

If Brooks was a Draft pick of Dubas he would be a starter right now, Dubas has been nothing but vicious to the previous GM's Draft picks.

Same as Evans I think if either ever surpass 40 it will be a miracle lol

Nothing against Brooks, I do like the guy but he's nothing special. Looked good against other 4th liners but that's about all you'll get.

If that doesn't scare Hab fans, you guys are no longer living in reality.

His cap hit is under this years league min. Good bottom 6 or 13th forward option. Having extra centre depth is never a bad thing. He is a good pro, works hard. Plus it screws with the Leafs depth a bit.

Montreal can always put him back on waivers if he doesn't workout and I am sure the Leafs will claim him back.

I think the majority of us know just how screwed our C position is but also know there is nothing we can do about lol. Without seeing a game and seeing how the team meshes we are a fringe team but we have hope and even if it is as misguided as the Leafs fans hopes are we will continue to hope until there is no hope left lol

Brooks is better off a a 4c as unlike Evans he just does not have all the tools yet to be that guy Hunter thought he was drafting. Honestly Logan Brown would have been a better 4c option for the habs. I feel him between Lehkonen and Armia would have been something intriguing

Imagine how much more exciting it would have been to get Barre-Boulet for a 6th round pick😒

It would be a little ironic if Brook put up points like he did in his last 2 years in the WHL (Never going to happen) LOL. I don't mind taking a risk with him though, MB's waiver pickups have actually been quite good in the past (Byron and Kulak come to mind).

This is why Guhle was sent back to the minors. Brooks contract puts them in max LTIR cushion thats gets locked in at 5pm today much like TB ly signing Boo Nieves to a 708,000 contract to max out.

I would say it's a safe bet that the team is indeed in reality. Thinking Brooks is a 3C answer is ridiculous
