Trades
1.
TOR
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (VGK)
  2. 2024 5th round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
With Smith and Jarnkrok being pending ufas, I can see Vegas making this trade. Their window most likely gets closer and closer to closing so they make a huge push for the cup, including this move.
2.
TOR
  1. Bastian, Nathan
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (SEA)
Additional Details:
Sign Kase to a 4x3 deal.
SEA
  1. Kase, Ondrej [RFA Rights]
  2. 2024 4th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Kase has a great healthy year which allows the Leafs to get a good value on a trade. Seattle could benefit from a player that if healthy has the potential to play 2nd line minutes for them. Bastian is a great depth player that can help the Leafs out.
3.
TOR
  1. Hartman, Ryan
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (MIN)
MIN
  1. Engvall, Pierre [RFA Rights]
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (SEA)
4.
TOR
  1. Tanev, Christopher ($2,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Similar to the 2019 Muzzin trade but less value, including quite similar contracts, because even though Muzzin was much better at that time than Tanev is now., there's 50% salary retention. This trade will only happen if Calgary decides to do a rebuild. Tanev does have an NTC, however, he might be willing to waive it as he's a hometown boy born in Toronto.
CGY
  1. Hollowell, Mac [RFA Rights]
  2. Kokkonen, Mikko [Reserve List]
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (TOR)
  4. 2024 1st round pick (TOR)
5.
TOR
  1. Gavrikov, Vladislav
Additional Details:
CBJ gets a young player with a low top 4 potential that needs a change of scenery, a B-level prospect and a 2nd and 3rd round pick for a great top 4 dman rental on a good cap hit.
CBJ
  1. Dermott, Travis
  2. Holmberg, Pontus
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (TOR)
  4. 2024 3rd round pick (MIN)
6.
SJS
  1. 2023 5th round pick (TOR)
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (TOR)

Let's push for a cup by trading a roster player who plays up and down the lineup and can play center for picks. Awesome idea

Bonino will probably fetch a 2nd. Rock solid 3C that's versatile is a hot commodity at the deadline.

Some of these trades aren’t bad but Columbus and Calgary would say no

Is the trade fair for columbus if there's another 2nd round pick in it?

The reason I think they might is because he would be a pending ufa at a time they're not competing, unless there's an extension already in place, I think the package they could get for him is too good to pass.

As of right now i agree but i think a year from now he will have regressed a bit. Might add an extra 4th or 5th to the package though.

Easy no from the Wild. At this point it would cost at least a 1st to pry him away.

If he doesn’t re-sign, they’d move him. He could fetch a 1st from an interested team.

Dermott, Holmberg, 2 2nds and a 3rd? Hmm. Part of me would rather just ship him to whomever gives a 1st.

How realistic is it to expect PH to become an NHLer?

After Engvall scores 30 goals and is on a HOF path you wont be so fast to trade him

I have a feeling he's one of those players that's either gonna be top six or nothing. The chances of him making it are slim but if he does then that's what I see. I don't think he'd be a great bottom 6 forward, so if he doesn't make the NHL he would probably be an AHL star or something. I think for me 2 2nds and a 3rd would be equal to a late 1st rounder if not exceed it. Dermott is also pretty young and if given proper ice time can be a top 4 dman.

I’d be happy with that…but a lot to wait for. Things change in a year. I’d see Dermott as the (hopefully) middle-pairing replacement for Vladdy, but too many variables to really commit to it right now - gonna need to see how the babies in the AHL develop, alongside Corson.
