What's with vastly overpaying Brady 8m X 2? He's a 6m X 2 player. Actually a pretty fair trade, if Brady can be signed to a reasonable 2 or 3 year contract. Marner is the superior player but the cap saving and the potential of the futures are enticing to the Leafs.

Melnyk's name and rep has so much negative influence I actually forget from time to time that he's not the GM of Sens.

I don't think any other owner has such a reputation - with the exception of Pegulas.

Kinda funny to consider that team owners tend only to get in the discussion if their team is doing something bad and/or stupid.

Marner is better than tkachuk

Kadri is not good enough defensively to be an effective 3C. Both him and Tierney are in contract years and poised to play their best game. I'd just leave them be and everyone wins.

Ottawa entered the lottery with the 9th overall spot this year. They were seven points out of 3rd overall draft position. That pick, alone, could be more valuable than Marner, even before you count the value of a three year ELC to a team that overspent before the cap went flat, like the Leafs. Sens pass.
