Bad for both teams... Byron is expensive but Montreal can afford him and he is a useful player. Not only will Hamonic refuse to report to Montreal, Vancouver needs defense so bad Byron does not even come close to Vancouver's needs

What does it mean he will not report to MTL? He has a contract. If he wants to terminate the contract and MTL agrees, then MTL gets cap advantage without spending assets. If he does not report, then he is like Yashin and will have to play his contract in full. I dont know what his situation is and we all respect his privacy, but not reporting to a team while on contract is not gonna work unless negotiated in advance.

Vancouver is going to let Hamonic have the time he needs to attend to his personal matter and will let him return to the team when he's ready.

He has a modified no-trade clause so he can't be traded to 8 teams he doesn't want to play for. He has also stated that her wants to play in western Canada, so Montreal may very well be one of those 8 teams.

But it can not be that. There are places more distant to Western Canada than Montreal. Some of them are not even Canada. I am not talking about the clause or even the trade to MTL. I was talking about contract obligations and that is it. We had Yashin and we know how it s gonna end up unless they negotiate something. Btw, he will report to Abbots once he resolves his issues as being reported.
