I'd think Strome could get the equivalent of a third and a fourth somewhere, depending on the team and their need for center depth.

I hope the hawks be careful, and see what Kirby dach really is before shipping strome out.

If CHI actually values their relatively prominent analytics department they'll get that Strome posted low numbers last year mostly due to a lack of 2As

Tho he's not impressive in other analytical ways

But it seems they don't

So uh Confused

Idk if my post here was overly helpful

Holy jeez every single team should offer that ASAP

Even if Strome plateaued as a 40ish point forward

Very very few 3rd/4th rounders become even that

To be honest I doubt the price's so low, if that's what he'd cost I can't imagine why Montreal would've not pulled the trigger already.

I bet the price is two 2nds. He's still an RFA and if he succeeds you could either extend him or flip him for the same price or better.

Edmonton would have to make corresponding move to fit Strome under the salary cap without sending salary back the other way. Wouldn't mind that extra scoring depth if the price wasn't too high.

I think he benefits quite a bit from playing alongside Kane and Debrincat. His defense is hovering between replacement level and below, while his offense is pretty inconsistent, but going downhill. So maybe he can get more than that, but I think whoever he could go to may wind up regretting it. This is coming from a Hawks fan. He's just not as good as he looks and isn't a 2nd line center.

Contextualize it though. He suffered from concussion symptoms last season and tried to play through it. Watching almost every minute of every game, it was quite noticeable the falloff. The year prior, he had a bad flu followed by injury and then a 20 game stint at wing; a perfect storm that hamstrung his analytics. Strome is never going to be good defensively, but he's only 24 years old, a very very smart player on the ice, and close to elite level passing. He's worth a lot more then 3rd and 4th round picks who statistically in the draft have about a 15% of actually netting a NHL player.

That said, no question he benefited alongside of the time with Kane and Cat when they all played together which is less then 50% of his time on the ice in a Hawks sweater.
