How could you play macdermid over the goat?

As bad a JJ is, MacDermid is worse. Nuke is locked in at 2LW and Bednar says they want Newhook playing at C so he'll likely be at 3C. To me, I think it shakes out more like:

Landy-Nate-Moose
Nuke-Naz-Bura
Ranta-Newhook-Jost
Helm-JTC-LOC

But we'll see, right?

i think it's be something like that but i can't see nuke staying on a scoring line long term. plus he's great with jost. i like my lines better though

i want to see what we paid a 4th for. i'm already pretty comfortable with the puck moving skills on the blueline and i want to see more size and toughness. may as well give macdermid a crack.

MacDermid sucks so bad it isn’t funny, it isn’t hyperbole to call him the worst defenseman in the NHL.

COL is keeping Newhook at C right or wrong (I think it is right). If Bednar wanted to get creative he could run Newhook at 2C letting him take the offensive C responsibilities and letting Kadri take the defensive responsibility somewhat like Landy does on the 1st line.

if the avs are stubborn about newhook as a center then i bet the avs will trade for a middle six lw during the season. i don't see kardi moving or nuke working out long term.

Nuke is there for possession and play-driving as well as his defensive responsibility and they want Newhook to play C so I believe they'll give Nuke a long look at 2LW. I like the idea of Newhook with Jost but putting another rookie (Ranta) with them could be a little dicey. I could see them putting JTC there but I'm not sure 4LW is the right role for Ranta so maybe it's an experiment they try for 5-6 games and see what happens.

I see you have MacKinnon as 1C even though he supposedly contracted the magic virus and isn't allowed to play and is not sick.

I don’t think stubborn has anything to do with it. They view him as a C and know the mistakes they made with Jost and I don’t think they want to relive that. I do think they will target a 2nd line guy though.

worked out ok for o'reilly, duchene, mackinnon. nothing wrong with playing a bit on wing.

golden opportunity for newhook to make an impact and for kadri's redemption.

Both of those guys made the nhl at 18, actually 17 and change for MacKinnon.
