Kassian is a cap dump currently. And that contract stinks. You would need to add a 2nd i think to get the Rangers to consider biting, and even then that would be stupid with their cap issues next season and beyond.

Probably need to upgrade on Koekkoek and maybe Tyler Benson but other than that it’s pretty good. We got a good starting goalie and Fast is also good.

Clearly you think this team is much more of a "mess" than I do, we'll start with that.

      - 30-year-old Jesper Fast is the answer to the Oilers depth scoring issues? the guy scored 6 goals last year and has a career high of 13.
      - Chiarot got owned defensively all season (21-33 goals), no idea why you think you're "fixing" anything by overpaying the 31-year-old to anchor (literally) your 2nd pairing for the next 4 years. It's just another Ceci deal except he has zero offense (after saddling the team with 6 years of Ceci buyout. Good work).
      - and then you paid a 2nd for a 32-year-old 3rd pairing defenseman to play on your 2nd pair - great use of assets there!
      - Varlomov isn't worth a 1st and a 2nd as a rental when there are UFA goalies who would sign without giving up any assets.
      - Your salary cap limit is incorrect, it's being projected at $82.5M for next year and if Keith retires the Oilers get an additional cap bonus of $3.4M, meaning a total cap limit of nearly $86M.
      - Dylan Holloway will be on this team (there goes any perceived depth scoring issues!)

Ur goaltending and defense is a complete mess, had to fix it

In terms of the depth forward, fast was literally the only player that came to my head, could go for someone else as well

He "only" earns $1.5M in his last year IIRC.

      a) the goaltending ISN'T a complete mess and b) you DIDN'T fix the defense you made it worse.
