Understatement imo. I would even add here, so long as they have a good idea that Hertl would extend. I love the thought of Hertl in Colorado.

Sharks are my favorite team but this is underwhelming. there will be better offers at the deadline than this.

lmao, I'm just shocked a Sharks fan could make this... Hertl will definitely be getting more if he doesn't end up staying. I think they're trying to keep him

I saw somewhere that an extension is likely not in the cards. Not sure how legit that is though.

In any case, he has strict trade protection that could affect his value and certainly makes it more difficult to predict. I also think he'll bring more, but perhaps not a ton more.

Wilson and his agent are already in discussions, but if it’s not in the cards yes his limited no trade clause will make it harder, but he wants to win and only teams in a cup chase will be looking to add him anyways so it’s not that big a deal, my hope is he stays if he goes i want to see the sharks get a top level center prospect and a 2022 first. anything else is a bonus.

Doug Wilson has talked to his agent, nothing has been proposed in terms of a contract. Hertl has been open about just focusing on hockey right now and wanting to see how the season plays out. I expect him to be moved at the deadline though because I’m not confident the sharks will be contending for a playoff spot. I think he is willing to stay in San Jose, but the team would just have be dominating I think for that to happen.

Substitute Bowers with Newhook and you have yourself a deal.
