If Deangelo shows enough this season to warrant being on the top pairing, why would he sign for dirt cheap?

His on ice contributions have never really been his issue. If he puts up a solid season this year playing with Slavin and running PP1 do you think other teams are going to rush to give him long term or big money? I doubt it b/c he's still going to be a huge risk and he probably knows that. Also, he's spoken about how much he respects and wants to play for RBA as the reason he signed here rather than another team on a similar deal so would think that plays into his decision making but guess we'll see.

Same here! Just hope they put him in top 6, otherwise not sure if we'll get a good idea of what he can do this year. I suppose if he plays with Staal and Nino on 3rd line that could work as well though.

These four RFA contracts look low to me, but this team is very good.
It will be fun to see what Andersen can do in net for CAR.

May be a bit but tough to tell so far out.

Necas will likely land between 6-8 depending on this season, that seems right to me for Bear but again will depend on his usage this year, KK could fluctuate quite a bit but this is based off of rumors earlier in the offseason after the offer sheet - of course if he has a huge year that number starts with a 6, and TDA I think is actually fair since I don't anticipate teams giving him big money or term even if he does have a good year b/c of his past.

But agree this could fluctuate depending on their play. I think they can afford all of them if they wanted to either way though.
