Trades
OTT
  1. Kravtsov, Vitali
Additional Details:
It is honestly really hard to guess the value of Kravtsov. He is still young and has potential, but his unwillingness to report to the AHL is concerning. What would you change to this trade?

For starters, take Pinto off the 4th line and move to 2C

Why play an NHL level talent in the AHL after he was just there and in the KHL

Well with Shesterkin in NYR acquiring Sogaard gets a bit pointless.

How about Kravtsov for Pinto+pick or something like that? Think NYR would be after a cheap center.

Well Brown is in STL. And you're severely undervaluing Kravtsov here.

Mads is a solid young goalie, but I could see the Rangers getting a higher price somewhere else. What i'd change: is

To Ottawa:
Kravtsov, Vitali
Hajek, Libor

To New York:
Søgaard, Mads
2024 2nd Round Pick
2022 7th Round Pick

lmao I entirely forgot we traded him already, but yeah idk, Kravtsov hasn't done well in north america yet (bad in the ahl, bad in the nhl, didn't make the rangers out of camp) and is refusing assignment to the ahl now. His value is probably around lias andersson. Nowhere near a guy like pinto, who was in the hobey baker running and looked good in his nhl stint last year as a 2-way C

If you had asked few days ago about the value of Kravtsov from any sane NYR fan (they're a rarity these days) they defo would've demanded Pinto in exchange as it seems NYR planned to have him replace Buchnevich.

Sogard is a huge overpayment, this guy only had like .33 points per game in the KHL and hasn;t done much better in the AHL.

Sogard has a much better track record, Years of North American experience, and will most likely be their starter if/when the Sens are a regular contending playoff team.

Ottawa has a TON of talented wingers. They don't trade Sogaard like this

Guys... More and more Sens fans are waking up to Shane Pinto. They are starting to understand what some of us have been telling them.

We wouldn't want to include him in a package for jack Eichel, so just imagine for Kravstov

Can understand being high on a prospect.

Can't understand unwillingness to trade a prospect for an established franchise level center.

Pinto is still a prospect but everything he has shown since being drafted in the NCAA and WJC, then in the NHL last season and this preseason is what progressively made us higher and higher on him. He's always better than initially thought.

I would trade him in a package for "an established franchise level center", but not the current injured and disgruntled Eichel.

Jack only has 5 years left at 10 M$, so already makes a lot of money (which is unfortunately always very important for Ottawa) and will miss a good chunk of this season if not all. This move would be way too risky for a small market like Ottawa. I don't think they are even looking at the possibility, not under the current context
