Honest Q: why trading Kuzy? Who is 2C now?

Kuzy hasn't been on the best form in the past two years, getting a sniper down the wing on the second line is nice. I also think using Lapierre or Mcmichael is good for their development.

This does not interest the Blues.

You need more centers, you have to many top 6 wingers, Tarasanko wants out anyways.

This does not interest the Caps either. Pretty horrible return for them.

Kuznetsov is coming off of a great camp, showed up in great shape, and is poised for a bounce back season. Center is more important than wing, and having a rookie play in the top six at center on a team that's still trying to compete for a Stanley Cup isn't exactly the best route for success.

Ehh? The Blues don't need centers, and certainly not one who's a total flake and has way more contract left than Tarasenko.

Neither trade is any good. Kuzy has looked good throughout training camp and game #1, he's playing with a passion we haven't really seen in a while, so no reason to send him to STL where they don't have a center spot, and especially not for the oft-injured tarasenko. The seattle trade is even worse, not only does Oshie not waive his NTC for that, but its an overpayment for Dunn. On paper it may look ok, but you don't just trade the lifeblood of the locker room for that.
