There is no increase in the cap next year. NHLPA have come out and are not going to use their 5% increase. The NHL would have to increase, which i doubt they will.

Curious where you saw that? All I've seen is that "Bill Daly says the NHL's salary cap is projected to be $75.5M-$76M next season, but adds it will depend on inflator negotiations with NHLPA." Also, "Cap could go as high as $75.5M next season. NHLPA could request that it stays at $73M to lower the escrow."

Do you have other information? I'm still predicting an increase just not to $76m. I expect that in negotiations it'll come down to $75m.

Ah, well, it still appears there's a decision to be made in negotiations between the NHL and the NHLPA. That article is from Feb 5th and my quotes are from tweets out of news from the GM meeting today. Appears the NHL and GMs would like a cap increase since they announced it today and the NHLPA is likely to want a flat cap to decrease escrow. My bet is that they meet somewhere in the middle. If the NHL says $75.5m-$76m to the press, I'm betting that they're hoping for a $74.5m-$75m cap next season after negotiating with the NHLPA.

Vegas may take Kruger but your logic isn't correct. There are lots of other players, mostly AHLers that Vegas might prefer. And cheaper than Kruger.

My understanding of the expansion draft is that each team has to expose 2 forwards, 1 defenseman, and 1 goalie that meet the exposure requirements: for skaters - played in 40 NHL games in the 2016-17 season or 70 NHL games combined in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons and under contract for the 2017-18 season, for goalies - under contract for the 2017-18 season.

https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-expansion-draft-rules/c-281010592

Glass fills the goalie slot for exposure because the goalie requirement doesn't require them to have played in the NHL. Viktor Svedberg (D) and Kyle Baun (F) are the only two AHL players for the Blackhawks that aren't in their first or second year as professionals and are currently under contract for next season. First or second year players are exempt from selection and Vegas has to select a minimum of 20 players (from 30 teams) that are under contract for next season. Svedberg and Baun could be traded before the expansion draft along with TVR. That leaves only Ville Pokka (D) who is a RFA next season. Pokka was being shopped for a trade at the deadline and is another candidate to be traded before Vegas picks.

Oh, nevermind he cleared it up. Pokka is the only non NHLer that Vegas can take that is worth anything. Other than that its TVR or Kruger, Maybe one of Panik Hartman Jurco but those are less likely.

Other teams have to a minimum number of players to expose, it doesn't mean that Vegas can't take other players (maybe veteran AHLers) also.

Kruger, sure Vegas may take him. But maybe they would prefer McNeill or Pokka which cost them over 2m less and still might be in the AHL. They could spend that 2m saved elsewhere.
The same logic holds true when so many folks think Read, Moulsen, Ennis, Palenchuk, are going to be picked from their teams. Vegas still has a salary cap and might find better value, picking some non roster NHLers.
