so I actually made a trade between the Pens and Ducks where some people actually got mad that I didn’t add enough in the deal on Pittsburgh’s side. So it’s quite the topic around Gibson.

I was curious so I checked, yeah it was not a great return. It's not the quantity of the pieces but Zucker, Riikola and DeSmith accomplish nothing for the Ducks. If you remove them from the deal, it becomes 2 first and a 2nd for Gibson with 2.5 retention, which makes more sense

I don't think it's that far off personally but keep in mind that most people don't understand or have no idea what a market is. On the NHL market, goalies are not worth as much as these people seem to think. It's supply and demand. There's only 64 jobs (with back-ups not being nearly as important) but a plethora of good goalies

Which is also why Holloway would never be proposed in the current deal to Edmonton.

Tuttis is just me throwing away his contract and he has no control where he gets traded to. Lol I have the power

Uh it doesn't work like that because the other team has to ACCEPT. Ottawa wouldn't take Turris even if you attached a good asset to him. The relation with the owner of the team is simply broken. Melnyk would never accept to see him around his arena/team

That is true with Melnyk actually. LOL. I was just thinking he’d regain form like Tyler Ennis there.
I also was thinking of throwing Lagare in the pens and ducks deal but I don’t really want to run our prospect pool even more dryer than it already is
Xspyrit liked this.
