If I was an Ottawa fan I would be very displeased with Brady at anything over 7.

I think the Rangers trade is a fair deal.

It just seems that in order for him to sign a long-term deal, he wants at least $8M. If not, he wants a bridge-deal and that's why the two sides are arguing.

Since our boneheaded organization burned Krav so badly, I'd love to see him given a chance to be a big contributor to an exciting young team like Ottawa.

Fair enough, I just do not understand how he thinks he's worth anything north of 7.

did they really burn him, or is he your typical Russian that doesn't work hard enough to earn his spot on the team?

1. If Kravtsov would be a good fit for Ottawa, then Tampa's 2nd is more than fair for him.

2. We'll be looking for a 3rd round pick for Holden.

3. Brady is not signing that.

It's a fair contract for Brady, though I doubt if he signs it. I believe he wants UFA as soon as possible.
Why do so many think Kravtsov is an NHL player?

I'd agree with you in 2019 when he refused to report to Hartford, but not now. The Rangers traded one of their best forwards to make room for Krav and left him off the prospect camp roster because they felt he was ready, then turn around and cut him for Dryden Hunt.

ohhh that lineup is horrible,

Del Zotto should only ever play if there is an injury he has been horrendous.
Formenton has proven he is a top 6 player, he in no way should ever be that low on the line-up, He could very well end up the first line RW even when Brady does come back.
Stuzle is not going to C any time soon if at all with the Play of Norris and Pinto.

I get the appeal of trying out Kravtsov but really do the sens need it? they have Sokolov who just like Kravtsov is a left-shot playing on the right-wing Russian who has more North American experience and is bigger and stronger.

I also don't like the idea of adding more left-shot forwards to a group that is all lefties besides Batherson, Brown, and Pinto, doesn't make sense to me.
I also don't see a huge upside for this guy offensively his KHL numbers are not that great only like .33 points per game and AHL numbers are even worse.

Ottawa is too close to the floor to trade Holden and WSH is too close to the ceiling to take him.

Kempny and a 6th for Mete helps both teams, financially. Ottawa saves $200k in salary, and gets 1.3M further above the cap hit floor, allowing them flexibility to make other moves, like trading Holden somewhere for a pick. And by the deadline, if Kempny is playing well again, the Sens can keep him or trade him for another pick.

Really don't think the term or AAV is what is blocking the deal but most likely signing bonuses as usual. Melnyk doesn't want to give any of that but star players want a good chunk of their salary in s.b. because of the financial gains it brings. Recent example : look at Barkov contract.

There's a big difference between a 8 x 8 contract and a 8 x 8 contract with 90% in signing bonuses (like Barkov). Just the interest you make every year by receiving your money right away... It's also "Lockout proof" money

All the rest is speculation and rumors. I'm 99% certain this is the case as it's been with past star players.

I like these ideas. I'd rather keep Holden anyway (at least until the deadline), he's pretty solid if you don't overplay him. I'd like to keep Mete too.

The 2 D-men I want to see gone asap are Del Zotto (lol I know, never played a game for Ottawa) and Josh Brown

do you know for a fact that the Rangers traded Buch to make room for Kravtsov?

Bingo. Our recent drafting is shifting towards NA and character players as opposed to getting burned on flakes like Krav and Lias. Even if these guys finally stick, the years of poking and prodding are not worth the trouble, next...

They didn't want to commit that money to Buch for the cap, yes, but they did so knowing Krav would fill his spot.
