Pass. Wasn't sad to see him claimed. I'd rather more ice time and PP time go to McIssac in Grand Rapids.

At this point, I don't see the value. If he couldn't win a spot on an expansion team, I think it's safe to say he's a bust.

Well to be fair he was competing with like 7 other LHD all trying to make the roster, most of them being at least a little more proven at the NHL level if not full-timers.

Ha McIssac played since going head first into the boards in the prospect tournament?

To send him to GR, you'd have to put him on waivers again. He probably doesn't get claimed, but I think we are better off developing McIsaac, Sebrango, and Newpower (even though he's not a super high-end prospect). We know what we have in DC already.

Also remember, you have to dress a certain number of vets in the AHL nightly (AHL vets on AHL only contracts), which is why teams don't have 23 kids in the AHL all the time.

I agree with this, let him go, he wasn't worth protecting and probably isn't worth claiming.

It s a good point. He hasn't yet but reports say he's recovering well. I was thinking more longer term. I don't see a reason to bring Cholo back now when in a months time or two months time he'll be taking up ice time from another prospect. Cholo had ample opportunity to gain a spot on a very poor red wings roster over the past 3-4 years and couldn't do it. Plus the Defense has improved with additions of Seider, Leddy, Stecher. Lindstrom has overtaken Cholo on the depth chart. I have a feeling Cholo might be Europe bound in the near future.

McIssac just can't catch a break, I feel bad for him.
