Who is going to give a top 6 forward for Kravstovtears of joy
Maybe Kravstov gets a AHL Top 6 forward in return.

If the Rangers want a top 6 forward, they should target Buchnevich from the Blues
He would fit perfectly on the Rangers

I was going to use Brian Boyle, NHL leader in goals scored, but didn't want to disrespect him like that.

Well I look forward to the Rangers saying that the 2nd round pick they are going to get is just as good.

"On what Dreger just reported..I am going to simply follow up with that's called damage control. Lots of teams interested and offering mid to low round picks for Kravtsov. Remember, Dreger was told the #NYR were not in on Eichel and then it was days of them in before Mika signed."

I saw someone comment that the problem with the NYR is financial.

Look in the AHL he's making 70k.
That ain't **** to live in NY, especially with the high taxes.
The thought is he prepped to play for the Rangers and when you make that move and you get sent to the AHL, the financials aren't working out.
Which is why it's believed he's saying I'm not doing this.
There is more to this story, is the thought process behind this. It's not just a matter with playing in the AHL, it's the experience he's had and the bind it's put him in.

As far as a top 6 forward.....no way are they getting that in return.

Hartford CT is not as bad as New York.
But taxes are still crazy high there too.

yes, but if you've already put yourself in a financial situation of being in NY having been led on to believe you'd be there.......... then that becomes the issue.
Which is what they were getting at.
Normally I'd say, yeah, young guy not on the team yet....probably isn't going to commit to anything.
But he came over thinking he was going to play. The thought is, he already made those decisions.
Now he's stuck with them and the financials aren't working out. Because now not only does he have those, but added in CT too.

Like I said, this was the thought that I saw going around.
Because 70k isn't bad in a AHL town if you know that's where you are going. But if you expected to be in one, then get bounced between them. That starts to be a financial burden.

So when a young NHL player is on the roster bubble, the team will cover short-term housing expenses (usually in a hotel). Once they have made the team to stay, they get a letter, that essentially says, "sign a lease". If Kravtsov, or any other player, chooses to sign a lease or buy a house before that letter arrives, its on them.

So he shouldn't have double the expense. And even if he does sign a lease in Hartford and gets called up...the team covers that too (and it doesn't count against the cap).

Its all in the CBA

While I know the league does some things, you realize he came over last year from the KHL which he went back to because he didn't want to be in the AHL and went straight to the NHL. He did a stint at the AHL once, and chose to go back to the KHL.
So when this year started, where do you think he was expecting to land.
Now it's easy to say, it's on them, and I'm not saying it's not.
What I am saying, is, the thought that was going around was, it's a financial issue. Brought on by the belief he was going to stay at the NHL level.
What they were getting at is, he came back to play at the NHL level, and committed to do that. But when they dumped him back into the AHL, that wasn't going to work and put him in a bind.
It is what it is. The NHL sure as hell wasn't going to house him all year long if he needed a place to stay. It would make sense that he made that place NY.
Anyway, that's the gist of what I saw posted. Take it or leave it.

But from income side, not expense side

well they are tied. Which is the point.
Now I'm not saying it's true or false. It could be he expected to play in the NHL, and that's the real issue. Note, he went back to play in the KHL when they stuck him in the AHL the first time.

Either way, there is more to this and we just don't know what it is.
