So Kakko and 2 late 1sts? Sabres pass. They keep Olofsson too if thats all they can get, hes rfa. Rangers are basically out on Eichel any way, they were never serious

Never mind whether the Eichel deal is good on value for either team -- next year, Rangers have $61.4 million tied up in 15 players under contract, and that doesn't include Adam Fox, of whom you may have heard. Unless a Rangers deal involves significant cap coming back, I don't see how any Eichel trade is realistic.

Lol virtually 2 3rds is a huge underpayment for a 20-30 goal scorer who is RFA and has much more room to grow his game

Feels like a video game trade with multiple pieces being used to piecemeal to Eichel’s value. The most egregious thing is the retention though; who in their right mind would tie up a retention slot for 5 years retaining 500k?

I really like Olofsson, but Buffalo has too many LH forwards.
Olofsson is the same age as Ristolainen so I could see him getting traded for 2 seconds.
While they will not score as many goals as Olofsson, Bjork, Girgensons, or Ruotsalainen could all move up to second line LW.
I tend to agree with @sabres89 and @Skyraider112 he is worth a bit more than two late 2nd round picks (early 3rd round picks, Mike Weber returned a third for example)
Ruotsalainen could slip into the second line LW.
in '18-'19 he was only one goal behind Kakko, in '20-'21 he had 16 goals in 19 games in SM-Liiga, 13 AHL pts in 13 games and 5 NHL goals in 17 games.

The Eichel return is a bit light but Kakko, Georgiev and 2 first may be all Buffalo will get for Jack and another player has to be included to balance the cap.
@thewookie1 yup, Gauthier, Kakko, and McKegg add nothing to the trade and would be actually useless as they would be taking up a roster spot.
Skinner,
This could be an interesting forward line up:
Skinner Mittelstadt Hinostroza
Ruotsalainen Cozens Kakko
Bjork Thompson Caggiula
Asplund Girgensons Okposo

2 2nds bro. yea it is too much. avs should use those assets on a player with term. likely cant afford olofssons next contract.
maybe a 2nd ard 3rd if the avs really wanted him.

2 2nds from one of the best teams in the league is basically 2 3rds. Just like a Sabres 2nd is really just a late 1st
