They havent had talent in the last 5 seasons. Keith and Seabrook have been the top defensive players over that span and they havent been good since 2016. His best players to work with have been ****ing gustafsson and Murphy. Doesnt look like its getting better any time soon unless McCabe and Jones are just trying to hustle everyone.

Let me clarify. I dont like Colliton either. A good coach could have at least salvaged something to work with through Kane. He hasnt. But its not like hes wasted a good roster any of the years

There were CBJ fans saying that Seth Jones just wasn't looking good especially last season and well... trading for him didn't improve the D either.

McCabe is not a bad investment. Jones is obviously a big overpay both in trade value and the extension.

I'd like to say I sympathize with you. But I can't, since we haven't even seen what Boqvist and Bean will bring to the table.
But at least the Jones' brothers are now playing together.

McCabe underperformed last game as well. I think he'll rebound, but every pass he made was at the guys skates. 4 Mil for a season or two is fine, but the back 2 years of the contract might suck, especially once we have to pay Dach, Debrincats next contract, Kubalik, etc.

He's better then De Haan and better then our younger guys although Stillman played pretty good last night. Much rather have him in our lineup outside over anyone not named Murphy and Jones (bad last night though).

I thought a lot of hawks passes were suspect last night. I think because they weren’t mentally ready for the game. In any case, McCabe will be fine going forward.

Im not saying hes bad. Im just saying theres a decent chance in 2 or 3 years the term bites us in the ass. Also thought Mitchell was probably our best defenseman last night. The only one who could complete a pass more than 5 feet.

Mitchell only played 8 minutes, but he had a nice assist on the PPG. I think McCabe will be fine, but you can have your suspicions about that contract. Personally I’m more worried about the D-man who is getting paid 9.5 million a year for the next 9 years to be a below replacement level player.

yeah I think most of us on here agree about that one so we dont have to go too far in depth there

That Jones contract is gonna bite the Hawks in the coming years. He isn’t worth that contract or the amount the Hawks paid for him.
