It's really early, and I thought they settled in well after the 1st 10 minutes. My biggest takeaway is Johnson and Jones were equally terrible. Jones had some good looks on the power play, but that was about it. Johnson is not better than Suter and Kampf. I have no idea what he's doing in the top 6 or the 1st PP unit. The package traded for Jones should've net the Hawks Werenski. De Haan doesn't fit on this team, they have enough defensive defensemen. It's going to be a long few years for this team if Jones continues to regress.

Its Really Early, too soon to judge Jones and Johnson so harshly currently. Give them a chance.

Agree on Johnson especially. Couldn't help but think what Suter would have offered or even Strome centering Kane and Debrincat.

Jones looks okay, not great not bad per se. He needs to settle in to a new system and pairings but is very unlikely they we ever look back at that trade and say he didn't overpay in the trade and didn't overpay with the extension. Would have been much better to grab Lindholm for a fraction of the cost of Jones in a trade and extension and kept BoQ. BoQ+ Lindholm is better then 1 Jones.

Those two didn't have good games for sure. Jones first 10 min was REALLY bad, but he settled in. I know this will sound like Blasphemy, but I thought Kaner had the worst game. 1 shot in the 1st 40 min and zero scoring opportunities made in the 1st 40 min. He'll obviously come around, but if you need a 6 on 4 to create opportunities then you're doing something wrong. He looked disinterested to me...which if you're scoring, fine. When your not it gets noticed.

Agree that Kane looked pretty bad and disinterested and obviously this isn't the first time we've seen this from him recently.

I'm willing to give some time to johnson and jones to let them bed in. Theyre talented players and theyll find their groove with some consistent line mates. We just continue to look a step behind on defensive transitions and colliton has not improved that part of our game since we became coach

at least the powerplay looks lethal. kane will pick it up he always does
