its like youve had borderline first and second line players on your 3rd line for the past 3 years or something and now see what happens when you cant go over the cap to fill the holes. not to mention stamkos is bound to get hurt. colton isnt a top line player. Perry looked terrible vs pitt. gunna be interesting to see if the top 6 can carry this team like the bruins top line has for a while or not. Think fatigue from playoff runs last few years may set in this year though.

We are losing cap and a first round pick in order to get back a player who is only slightly better than Joseph. We might need another 3rd liner this year, but it would be someone to play WITH Colton and Joseph.

The Sens aren't in a position where trading Connor Brown makes any sense. He's a huge part of the team, and they don't have any prospects ready to replace him.

Also if Ottawa were to put him out there, they'd have a huge bidding war, especially if Ottawa is retaining 50%. There would be teams with a way better 1st offering a way better player, and potentially even an additional 3rd or something.

They had the same lineup for 2 seasons. They're not going to find the perfect line combination after losing 1/3 of those forward group in the first game of the year. Cool your jets.

Aside from the 1st (which is a must), the only prospect worth our time negotiating with Tampa over Connor Brown is Cal Foote.

Even then, you'll probably get outbid.

I’m sorry but Connor Brown has averaged close to 50pts pace last 2 years with barely any PP time while being elite defensively .

Wjhile it is two games and no deep worries on offense or defense, I have to agree and look at the 6th-12th forwards and notice a HUGE difference.

Gourde, Johnson, Coleman and goodrow have all been replaced by lesser (much lesser) players, those 4 are all guys who are close to 2nd line caliber. Similar, although superior, to the Leafs, you are looking at very top heavy forward lines, with lots of muck underneath them.

Joseph has proven his worth on this team, he's going to have so many shorthanded breaks this year.
