LOL, rag on me for connecting the dots to the thread to the Leafs and than uses his next comment to mention the Leafs.
Didnt really mention Toronto at all just said expect Rielly and Klingberg to sign for 6.5mill x 8 years as those 2 are the last big Dman free agents for next season. Never said it would be with their respected teams.
There could be a post about Lebron James and someone would find a way to make it about Pierre Engvall lol
This must be what it's like to live in Canada.
For the record most of us from Toronto (or the Toronto burbs) find it annoying too. This is about a great deal about pulock. Doesn't have anything to do with the leafs.
?? Who do you think gets the money if the players don't?
Sorry should have specified that playing hockey is not about making money. The business side of it obviously is but the players should just be thankful they are blessed to play the best game on the planet in the best league on the planet
Regardless of whether Pulock himself is worth this contract (which he is just making a point to those who say no), this contract isn't just about Pulock. This guarantees the Pulock/Pelech combo for 8 years. THAT is worth every penny of this contract plus a couple mil to each of them.
I hate this "agent must be fired" talk. It's nonsense. If every single player on the Isles roster is taking slightly less to build the deepest possible team, then no one's actually getting "shafted" here.
Pelech is amazing, Pulock is really good. I don't think he's a #1D as some claim here. The NYI system does a lot to help defensive play. I'd rather have Ekholm at 4x6.25 than Pulock at 8x6.15.
A lot easier to imagine the Isles pursuing an actual LD2 next year now. Wow, the Pelech-Pulock defensive pair, one of the leagues best, both on absolute bargain contracts. Good time to be an Isles fan.
Oh really.
Then why didnt hecsign for league minimum?
Cause your wrong, but hockey is not just about making money.
Great argument… The real question is why you’d bring up his agent needing be fired when maybe this is the deal Pulock wanted to sign. Perhaps he was completely comfortable signing at a discount because he’s a good guy and the money is of little concern to him. I always respect players who sign at a discount, shows they care much more about hockey than money.
